BUSINESS UPDATE: Customer Communication

I am delighted to report that our network has held up well since the initial industry restart back in April. Everybody here at kff knows how difficult it has been for our customers and we continue to do everything we can to deliver the service you have always enjoyed.

I would like to thank you for your support and co-operation over the last few months while we took some unprecedented steps to keep the business running as smoothly as possible.

Moving our order cut off time and increasing our minimum order value has given us much needed time to pick your order taking the pressure off our colleagues in the warehouse and our drivers.

During lockdown we transformed ourselves into a true one stop shop supplier delivering everything from fresh fruit and veg to freshly prepared fish as well as locally sourced fresh meat and poultry. We are delighted with the take up from our customers which is delivering record numbers for this time of year.

We are also preparing ourselves for a big upsurge in demand following the relaxation of restrictions on 19th July.  The weather has also turned for the better, so we are expecting orders to increase accordingly as business starts to pick up further.

Here at kff we are lucky to have a fantastic team of loyal, long serving drivers but we are keen to recruit more drivers and we are up against significant driver shortages affecting the entire industry.

Like many of our customers we are also now falling foul of the higher than usual self-isolation rules thanks to ‘pingdemic’.

We are managing these challenges as best we can, but this may put added pressure on our ability to deliver. If for any reason your order or delivery day is going to be affected your sales representative or Telesales Agents will contact you to let you know and work with you to find a solution.

Considering the current situation and to protect your service we would like to call on your support once again by making these simple changes to our processes:

  • - Saturday service customers: We will be moving our larger trucks into the week to help with capacity. Smaller vans will be available to make a few deliveries on Saturdays going forward. If you are affected by this, we will contact you directly.
  •  
  • - Please try and order all of your frozen and ambient volume for Monday to Thursday deliveries. This will help us retain capacity for shorter shelf-life lines on Friday deliveries.
  •  
  • - To save time at the point of delivery, we are offering all our cash or card payment customers a credit account or alternative arrangements to save time – we will be in contact with further information.
  •  
  • - If you haven’t already reopened, we would be grateful if you could give us as much notice as possible before doing so. We will then give you a call to discuss your requirements to ensure we can deliver on agreed days.

With your help and cooperation these new measures should enable us to keep doing what we do best – delivering the food you need to help your business thrive.
