  • We currently have a fantastic opportunity for two Transport Team Leaders to join the team on a full-time permanent basis based at our Witney site in Oxfordshire, reporting to the Transport Manager. This is a Monday – Friday role with the exception of a Sunday rota, working an additional 2 to 3 hours.

  • Whilst having the support of the Transport Manager you will be working alongside a friendly team. The role will involve working as part of the management team with responsibility for legal compliance, route planning, warehouse duties, tachograph downloads, reduction of infringements, driver debriefs, hygiene, health and safety, vehicle maintenance, and managing drivers’ hours among other duties.

  • Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a Transport operation delivering to customers in line with the agreed service level.

  • •Ensuring all Legal, Health and Safety, EU Driving Regulations and Operational procedures are adhered to at all times, ensuring the safety of self and others.
  • • Setting and achieving specific measurable targets for the team.
    • To maximize productivity and manage the usage of overtime and agencies to improve costs.
    • Performance Management of all drivers within the team to ensure the achievement of operational targets.
    • Ensuring all personnel policies and procedures are followed that enable drivers to be treated fairly and with respect
  • • To coach, support and develop the drivers


  • To be considered for this role the ideal candidate must:
    • Ideally hold a Driver CPC
    • Have experience of leading a team
    • Have excellent and proven people management skills
    • Have good IT skills
    • Have excellent organisational and planning skills
    • Have experience of managing change through the development of staff
    • Be a team player
    • Have a sound understanding of legal compliance issues
    • Ideally hold a valid HGV Class 2 driving licence
