For the sauce, heat the oil in a saucepan and gently fry the onion and garlic for about 5 minutes until softened. Stir in the tomatoes, crushed chillies, mixed herbs and sugar. Bring to the boil, cover then simmer gently for 30 minutes.
Stir in the basil and season with pepper, then blend with a stick blender until smooth.
Stir the Squeaky Bean Meatless Meatballs into the sauce, cover and simmer gently for 15 minutes until core temperature is reached.
Split the deli rolls horizontally, then divide the balls and sauce between the rolls. Sprinkle each with a little mozzarella to finish.
